About Us

Communist League of India (Marxist-Leninist) [CLI (ML)] is a communist revolutionary organization functioning under the leadership of Reorganizing Committee (RC). It is in direct continuity of CLI (ML) formed in February 1978. We are part of the communist revolutionary camp. Before formation of CLI (ML) in 1978, we were part of COC, CPI (ML) formed in 1974 which emerged as one among many communist revolutionary groups after splits in CPI (ML), formed in 1969 in the wake of Naxalbari uprising.

Reorganizing Committee took over the leadership of CLI (ML) when in latter half of 1998 the then leadership split the party organization and after boycotting the fourth party conference separated from the party organization. (For detail party history, see 'Some Important Lessons from the History of Our Party Organization' in Lal Salaam, Issue No.-15.).

CLI (ML) upholds Marxism-Leninism-Mao Thought. It upholds Great Proletarian Cultural Revolution. It considers CPSU under Khrushchev and CPC under Deng as revisionist and capitalism restored in these countries under their leadership.

CLI (ML) considers India a capitalist country under the Indian bourgeoisie hegemony. It holds that stage of revolution in India is socialist and main targets of this revolution will be Indian bourgeoisie and imperialism. The path of Indian revolution will be general insurrection.

Mouth organ of Reorganizing Committee, CLI (ML) is Lal Salaam (The Red Salute) published six-monthly.
